Be inspired by 2012
The London Borough of Bexley's draft Olympic and Paralympic Strategy, 'Be Inspired' has been released this week for public consultation.London 2012 offers a wealth of opportunities and 'Be Inspired' details many of these, illustrating how Bexley will benefit from the Games.
The strategy aims to encourage Bexley residents to be inspired by and benefit from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cabinet Member for Leisure, Arts and Tourism, Cllr Peter Catterall said; "From increasing participation in sport, culture and volunteering, to promoting business opportunities, engaging schools and increasing tourism, Be Inspired seeks to capture the imagination of the whole borough and leave a lasting legacy for years to come.
With London 2012 less than 1,000 days away there has never been a better time to confirm Bexley's commitment."
The draft strategy is the result of many months of consultation with a variety of stakeholders, whose ideas and suggestions have helped shape the themes and aims that appear in the document.
This public consultation will give local residents and organisations the opportunity to offer their views on the document in its draft format. Public consultation will close on 2 February 2010.
The draft strategy, plus accompanying documents, are available to download from the right hand link or by emailing Leisure Services
